Purpose
Experts warn that critical infrastructure should be part of National Security considerations. These warnings have gone noted but largely unheeded. In 2014, the world witnessed the disruption of economies, power grids, and civil services, including banking and cellular systems in Eastern Europe. Ongoing cyberattacks continue over a decade later. In 2012, a regional conflict over contested island ownership resulted in defacement and denial-of-service attacks on government websites. Researchers continue investigating ongoing state-sponsored attacks on rival countries’ businesses, including maritime and engineering firms. A substantial espionage campaign threatened a national East Asian election scheduled for Jan 13th, 2024. Imagine what a modern global conflict would disrupt if targeting in regional conflicts extends to financial sectors, civil services, elections, logistics providers, and other industries.
RSTCON is a technical security and hacking conference aiming to RESET the cybersecurity conference experience to cutting-edge research, exploitation, and tradecraft. The conference targets the logistics, energy, and manufacturing industries, as well as the sensors, systems, and architectures they rely on. This open forum to share, demonstrate, and discuss novel findings will connect cutting-edge researchers with critical industries ahead of potential conflicts that disrupt businesses and lives.
RSTCON is home to the curious and those passionate about software and hardware security. Whether you come as an attendee, speaker, or sponsor, we urge you to enjoy, engage, and connect.
